    Most likely reconed with whatever was lying around. Have never seen a cap like that on an Altec.

    It is perforated tho. Very very odd.
    The cone part is an Altec one, 21353-3. Maybe a 515 or 803 cone?

    That vented cap is used on cheaper musical instrument speakers. I think the reconer did not have an Altec cap and had to go ahead anyway.

    It reminds me of the dust caps on some Eminence built Peavey Ram Drivers that I have........ I beleive they qualify as cheaper MI speakers.
